Iona is the Blockhouse Bay parish of the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa NZ, and is governed by the rules of that church.

Iona is fully self-supporting and additionally gives funds to outside causes as part of its outreach mission.

Our Mission Statement is:

Promoting faith through nurturing and challenging,
renewing and proclaiming.

It is indeed all of those things, and among its strengths are its warm welcome, its strong congregational singing, and the harmony of the congregation as a people of faith encompassing those of many different nationalities and Christian denominations.
